Value Delivered

KDC Systems performed a complete building automation system upgrade for the 27-floor Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) headquarters that includes 650,000 square feet of office and meeting space.

Our solution also helped improve their entire energy management system, as well as the smoke evacuation system for the building and its four-level underground parking facility.

Because we completed work on a phased-occupancy schedule, we ensured that all life safety systems were operational ahead of move-in.

We were also able to integrate approximately 550 existing field controllers into the new system, which enabled our client to save thousands of dollars on installation and procurement.

Client Objectives

The client needed a comprehensive building automation upgrade that could integrate three generations of direct digital controls and existing pneumatic controls into one seamless network.

Solutions

In addition to integrating hundreds of controllers into the new system, our comprehensive solutions included installation of:

  • Complete building automation controls and energy management system
  • More than 200 new direct digital controllers for air handling units, exhaust fans, smoke evacuation, and more

Client Background
