Value Delivered

As building systems age, keeping up with necessary software, hardware, and security enhancements can present logistical and financial challenges for building owners.

To help Brookfield Properties address these challenges in a 52-floor Los Angeles high-rise, KDC Systems performed a complete building control system upgrade.

Because we retained and integrated more than 1,000 existing controllers, our energy management system helped save the client time and money on the installation of new controllers.

Overall, our solutions helped improve their building operation and control, and protect their valuable investment.

Client Objectives

Brookfield Properties needed a solution that could contribute to “future-proofing” their energy management system and help minimize logistical challenges or expenses.

Solutions

KDC Systems upgraded the existing operating software with new software that brought many components together in one application.

We also installed a new graphical user interface, including more than 1,600 graphic pages, and used a new fiber optic network. Our comprehensive upgrade included integration of:

  • More than 1,200 existing field controllers
  • Lighting controls
  • After-hours override
  • Billing system
  • Smoke evacuation sequence
